Name Dilemma - Family Legacy and Personal Preference?

There are some names in my family that I would like to keep around, but my husband and I have names we like as well. Our last names are another issue with finding good name combinations: Mori-McNeil

The names we like are:

Fynn

Oliver

Jordyn

Elan

Jasper

Family Names:

Lee

Flora

Aubrey

Jay

We are baffled as to how to make these names work, especially since we want the name, middle name, and last names to work together, or at least have some sort of flow.

I think Oliver Jay Mori-McNeil flows well and Jasper Lee Mori-McNeil does too, Good Luck x

Jordyn Aubrey Mori-McNeil. (I love this one!)

Oliver Jay Mori-McNeil/Jay Oliver Mori-McNeil.

Jasper Lee Mori-McNeil.

Instead of Fynn, and Lee. You could combine them! Fynlee/Finely.

I personally don't like Flora or Elan.

Hope I could help!

Jasper Lee Mori-McNeil

Aubrey Elan Mori-McNeil

I like these combos:

Oliver Lee

Flynn Aubrey

Elan Jay

Jordyn Flora

Jasper Aubrey

They are in order of preference

Dont worry about having a middle name.

What do you think of the name...?

Debbie?

Please comment on it and give it a rating. Any middle name suggestions? Does it go with the last name Holmes?

Thanks in advance x

Debbie Layla

Debbie Maria

Debbie Lorraine

Debbie savannah

Debbie Alanah

Debbie is a nice name but wouldn%26#039;t use it for my own child

I don%26#039;t know where in the UK you%26#039;re from, but here in London it%26#039;s very popular. I%26#039;ve met about 8 or 9 people with that name.

I don%26#039;t like it because it reminds me of Debby Ryan, and she%26#039;s pretty irritating.

The best middle names for Debbie would be:

--1 syllable names OR 3 syllable names, to counteract Debbie%26#039;s 2 syllables.

--names that don%26#039;t end in an %26quot;ie%26quot; sound, like Debbie.

e.g.

Debbie Rose

Debbie Claire

Debbie Alice

Debbie Ann

Debbie Blaire

Debbie Sophia

Debbie Rosaline

Debbie Camilla

Debbie Isabella

Debbie Amelia

I%26#039;m particularly fond of Debbie Rose Holmes and Debbie Sophia Holmes.

yes it is a good name not to unusual but not to common ether.

8/10

how about for middle name

Debbie Rose Holmes

Debbie Matlida Holmes

Debbie Grace Holmes

Debbie Renee Holmes

Debbie Lynn Holmes

Debbie Morgan Holmes

Debbie Jasmin Holmes

Debbie Josie Holmes

Debbie Diane Holmes

Debbie Isabella Holmes

Debbie Shay Holmes

Lily Claire or Aubrey Claire?

Which is nicest?

Btw, I'm not pregnant.

Lily claire it sounds so beautiful and feminine :)

Lily Claire, it's so simple and elegant. I love it! To me, Aubrey sounds really masculine and doesn't flow as well with Claire. Lily is a wonderful name, and paired with Claire, it becomes classy and regal. It's beautiful.

i also prefer lily claire. i know girls named aubrey, but it always sounded masculine to me too, like "humphrey" or something, hehe. lily claire is lovely though!

(actually, if you changed aubrey to audrey, i think that would make it much better. just a thought!)

Lily Claire.

Aubrey is a masculine boy's name, not a unisex name. It means Elfin KING. KINGS are MALE. Queens are female. Nothing feminine, girly, or unisex about a name meaning KING.

Aubrey Claire! It's beautiful. Aubrey is very much a girl's name right now, although it can work for either gender. I love it.

Well, is it for a girl or a boy? Aubrey is a boys name.

Lily Claire as Aubrey is a masculine BOYS name.

Lily Claire

Lily Claire x

Lily Claire

lily claire

I love Lily.

i like them both but Aubrey Clair sounds nice!

lily claire

its such a pretty name :)

DEFO lily claire - sorry but i dont know why everyone loves aubrey as i think it is an old ladys name...

lily is lovely but i prefer it spelled lilly

x hannah

Does Skye Andromeda/Ariadne sound ok? what other greek mythological girls names go with Skye?

I prefer Skye Ariadne. Other options are:

Skye Artemis

Skye Persephone

Skye Jocasta

Skye Sibylla

Skye Phaedra

SkyePheobe

Skye Kalliope

Skye Electra

Skye Ione

Skye Halcyon

Skye Hermione

Skye Andromeda/Ariadne does not sound good to me.. sorry..

how about Skye Helene, Skye Diane, Skye Aella, Skye Ambrosia, Skye Aoide, Skye Aster

Skye is tacky. I can imagine a girl with that becoming a teenage mum who hangs around smoking and accosting people for money.

What about skye athena

My daughter's name is Skye.

What about Skye Chrysanthe?

My name is Caitlin would it be weird to call my kid Katie?

I'm not going to, I'm just wondering what you think. Maybe I would use it as a middle name but the last name I'm working with is Holmes, so that's an issue too because of Katie Holmes. Opinions please?

I don't think it is weird to call your daughter Katie because you are Caitlin but the Katie Holmes thing might be a bit much.

Just because it would look like you named her after Katie Holmes on purpose even though that is not actually the reason.

Katie as a middle name with the surname Holmes might work though.

Personally I prefer the proper name of Katherine and Katie as a nickname though.

I think Cate might be to much with your name.

No Dont do that because to name her the exact name as a celebrity is retarded plus that is way to close to your name because my friends little girl is named caitlyn and they call her katie all the time.

I like it. Don't worry about the last name. She will probably grow up and get married and her last name will change anyway. And she'll still have her lovely first name. At least you're not calling her Suri. Now that would be a little weird:0)

It would be weird and im glad your not going to. I wouldn't want the same name as a celebrity either.

You could probably get away with the name Kate but make sure it doesn't get nick named to Katie!

Haha my friends name is Caitlin Holmes. We call her Cat not Katie though :P

Use it as a middle name. Its too similar to yours anyway.

katie is a nice name but its weird haveing a close name to your mom maybe name her kathy ,kathirina, mary kate, and so on

umm.. it would be a little weird... katie is a really nice name but katie holmes... caitlin and katie holmes.. just don't...

do not call her katie!

do not!

do not!

DO NOT!

You could always call her Kathrine/Kathryn : with Katie/Kate as a n/n.

Good luck :-)

I don't think so; there're more Katies in the world than just Katie Holmes.

No way do not call her that..

Maybe for a middle name yes, but not first, or even not at all

No I wondn't suggest that, sorry

I think Katie Holmes sounds fine

i think it would be nice for a middle name

Do you like Jason or Jayson better?

I always liked jayson. its a modern twist to a classic name. good balance. :)

when you have jason its just jay-son. but with jayson you pronounce the y more so theres a bit of a different sound.

i prefer jason, but jayson is also nice :)

Jason spelling can be found on a calendar ( July, August, Sept,Oct, Nov.) but you add the y.. he no where..

I like both go with the one you like.. I got a son Jason Quinn and we call him JQ. :)

Definately Jayson. I wrote a book with a character named Jayson.

I like the name.

Jayson by far.

Its unique spelling.

And these days,

Unique is everything.

My friend spells his name 'Jayson',

so you think I'd be biased,

but I actually prefer 'Jason'.

Yep.

Jason.

You can still call him Jay & not have to deal with the hassle of it always being misspelled.

Jason. If you spelled it the other way, there would be constant mispellings in his life. It gets frustrating when people spell your name wrong all of the time. I know LOL

Jason. It's a lovely masculine boys name.

Jayson is trashy.

Jayson-

i know this wasnt the question, but i think Aeson is a beautiful name... and it has the same sound to it... its unique too...

I much prefer Jason. You can still use Jay as a nickname.

Jason - unusual spellings like Jayson look odd!

I like Jason. I HATE random "y's" thrown into names just to make it look different.

Jason

You can call him Jay either way

I like the classic spelling

Jason for sure!!! Jayson will be misspelled the kid's whole life. Why not just save some aggravation...

I prefer it spelt like Jason but Jay can be the nickname.

Jason.

Jason

Jason

I always wanted to name my son Jayson but i think the name or names have gotten too common. I still like Jayson best.

I would do jayson.. Be different..

jayson sounds cool

Opinions on baby names?

Okay well the last name is Carpenter. So what do you think? Anyone have any good names?

For a girl

Shade Micha

Anya Darlene

For a boy

Aiden Conley

Kole (any good middle names for Kole?)

I like Anya Darlene or Anya Danielle

Kole Atticus

Kole Jamison

Kole Anderson

Kole Benjamin

Anya is aborable but I am not a fan of Darlene so I would say

Anya Danielle & Kole Thomas

Good luck hun

edit - I just noticed the girl above me put danielle too! It must be a sign :)

Anya Darlene

Kole Michael, Kole David

I don't really like the girls name but go w/ Anya Danielle & I like Kole Alexander...

Is Shade pronounced (Sha-day)? Anya is cute. What about Kole Alexander?

If you name your child Shade she'll hate you forever, and justly so.

I like Anya, but nothing else here...

Do you like the name Lilu for a baby girl?

Do you like the name Lilu for a baby girl?

awh that is cute. i also like lily/lilian or leah

although I wouldn't pick it I appreciate that it's unique yet not tacky like lots of other made up names- and it does sound cute :-).

Its cute

it sounds cute,i think it will be nice

Do you like this boys names?

Rowan Caleb P.

Thanks for your input

I love Rowan! Very sweet. :)

Hi, I love the name Rowan, but I also think that it sounds more feminine than masculine. Caleb is a great name! I know two girls who are both named Rowan, but I also worked with a guy from Jamaica who was named Rowan. It is a unisex name and it is not too common so go for it if that is what you want. Some other similar names as well:

Roan, Rowen, Royan, Rohwan. Good luck.

I like it a lot, however I like Owen Caleb ever more!

it flows well but i prefer it for a girl.

Cute name!

I like it

Do you think Slappy is a good name for a babby boy?

Everyone calls my father Slappy, and I wanted to honor him by naming my first born son after him. It originated from my birth culture.

sounds like a frogs name

Slappy. Can you even imagine the sort of respect that child would get? For a family nickname, maybe, but not a birthname.

School will be badddd for them if you name the child Slappy. Then, think of his future... "Today, President Slappy _________ passed a bill regarding...." Though the government is already full of clowns, they also aren't honest enough for a name like Slappy.

Or any career for that matter. Trucker. Burger King. Lawyer. No matter what you apply it to, it sounds silly.

Don't put your kid through that.

Heck, my cousin calls me slappy to annoy me.

It is a great name for a baby TROLL... Actually I prefer your previous name put forth in an earlier question... Seamiwini ("See My Weenie").....you are sooooo funny. ..in that subtle, almost racist way... Just what is your "birth culture" other than "Not funny comedian"??? PEOPLE this "person's name" of choice here on Yahoo is "Brown Sh*T A" (say they name as spelled aloud)...he/she is pulling your legs...

Lord Have Mercy! That Poor Lil Child. No Offense to your Father, but that is just awful. They called my daddy" Goat" and I thank the Lord they didnt stick that to me or my brothers. If it has to be used just use it as a nickname.

Sorry, but I dont think it would be a good idea to name your son Slappy. It could be used as a middle name. But please dont give your son the first name Slappy. I really would hate to see him be teased because of his name!

You can honor your father by naming your son after him...meaning his real name. But Slappy isn't a name that should be permanent, but when your son is born it can be his nick name like your father.

You could name him your son after your dad's real name, but Slappy could be just a nickname you call him. It would honor your dad in 2 ways.

i don't know: its really the parents disscion, but would you liked to be named slappy? think about it before you name your child!

lmao i agree w/ AmberWh!! slappy mcnasty! lol but no he will be made fun of all the time and probably get hit for being "SLAPpy"

No... sorry I think it's very bad. Maybe stick to your Dad's real name or middle name or something and honor him in that way.

NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO...

your child will be made fun of for his WHOLE LIFE.

no..it sounds like a pet name..you can always use it as anickname for your kid

if you're considering humiliating names....

that's a good one!!

Yes, Slappy is a wonderful name ?/div>

GOD NO! Middle name, fine, it's got backround.

FIRST NAME HEAVEN FORBID!

as long as you want to name him that )(LOL)(

It might be a cool nickname

not really

Hell yea! Slappy's a kickass name. Go for it!

sure why not... why not add in there mcnasty for the middle name as well.
